Butterfly Garden - Hand Painted Silk Scarf

This is my latest creation. The idea for this came about from a friend who wanted me to paint a scarf for another friend as a birthday gift. Now this was what I was given to work upon - " She loves butterflies and she loves purple! " :) So I had to put in purple butterflies. And I love green.

So there you go...an enchanting green garden background with purple butterflies and lots of gold thrown in.

Happy Birthday my dear friend!

Dinner - Spinach Tangliatelle with Pink Sauce and Roasted Veggies

This was yesterday night's dinner - Spinach Tangliatelle with pink sauce and roasted vegetables. The sauce was creamy and cheesy with tomatoes. The vegetables were oven roasted with olive oil, salt and pepper.

Krishna's Indispensables....

This is something I just did for a friend...

I just love the idea of the peacock feather and flute together, it reminds me of baby Krishna... always portrayed as very cute and very naughty. :)

Here is a closer look at the design...

8 - Aniket's Indian Flag !

I'm quite proud of the "Chakra" he drew. I showed him only once how to do it! :)

7 - Stones in my beans...

This is what I found while sifting throught black eyed beans today.

Look at the size of that. If I hadnt found it, someone would have surely ended up with a broken tooth!

6 - Baker's Heaven in Kuwait - Tavola

This is one "find" in Kuwait that I absolutely love!!!!

As the post title aptly puts it, it is Baker's Heaven. Its got all the tools you will ever need to bake and decorate awesome, mouthwatering cakes, cupcakes, cookies and anything else that you can think of. Look at just some of the amaing stuff that they have.

They have all sorts of other kitchenware in their store too, like Cuisineart,J K Henkel, Bodum etc. I was in awe. I spent atleast 30 minutes walking up and down the baking section, not being able to decide on what to buy and what no to. I wanted to buy the whole store if possible. My husband had to literally pull me out of there!

Check out their facebook page on https://www.facebook.com/TavolaKuwait

4 - Build-a-Bear Workshop

Friday is here. Yay!! We decided to spend it by first taking our 4 year old swimming, and then in the mall. :)

There, our man saw the Build - a - Bear workshop and wanted one ( ok,I confess, mommy wanted one more :p) . Anyway, once he was inside, he was pretty excited to choose his bear, fill it, and dress it up. He chose an Arab horse ( so it was called; looks just like any other horse to me ) . The lady there was so nice helping him fill the horse up and put "spells" on the little heart that goes inside.

Look at how much fun he had brushing its hair :)

He didnt take too much time deciding its dress though- he'd found the perfect Harley Davidson tee shirt for it (typical boy!) .

Oh, and they also made him hold his hand up and make a Bear Promise. Now, he actually believes Chocolate is his best friend and hasn't really put him down ever since.
I read a book to both of them and they are now both fast asleep . <3<3

3 - The Birthday Boy!

And this is the birthday boy cutting his cake. Obviously the 4 year old is very excited! :)

2 - Eggless Banana Cake and Cupcakes with Vanilla frosting

Hubby's birthday Part 2 :)

This is the banana cake I baked with vanilla frosting and coloured sprinkles to top.

And with the leftover dough, I made these cute little cupcakes.

I have to say these didnt come out as spongy as I expected them to be, but they were tasty...I need to perfect the eggless variety more. Any volunteers for tasting? :)

1 - Yumm Tres Leche Cake

So my first post starts with my hubby's birthday! Thats a great beginning!!

This day was baking galore for me, making 2 different kinds of cakes. The first one was this absolutely heavenly Tres Leche cake. I had tasted this in the US, and wanted to try making it myself. I was just waiting for the right occasion. Since the birthday boy loves anything and everything with condensed milk on it, this was the perfect birthday cake for him!

It was an instant hit!

And this is how it looks on the inside... look at how spongy, yet juicy it is :)
